For two years, the Kindersleys travelled to five
continents to meet and talk to children from many different
walks of life.
The result is this book in which children from around
the world describe their dreams and beliefs, hopes
and fears as well as the day-to-day events of their
lives. Here each child speaks only for him or herself
but the conversations, accompanied by photographs,
convey a sense of their community and particular way
of life. Children Just Like Me records the remarkable
diversity and yet extraordinary similarity of children
from today's global village. Children are encouraged
to participate in a special pen pal arrangement, so
that they may share their own experiences with children
in other countries.
