The books are produced by a husband-and-wife team. Gutman is a children’s book designer, Hallensleben was a painter before becoming a full-time illustrator of books. The couple lives in Paris with their daughter and too many cats.

LISA'S AIRPLANE TRIP

Lisa, a white dog, is flying alone for the first time from Paris to to meet her uncle in New York. The meal, the movie, and other passengers provide endless amusement for Lisa--until an unfortunate accident with her orange juice. Fortunately, a very nice flight attendant makes everything better with a quick wash in the bathroom, followed by a special trip to the cockpit.

GASPARD ON VACATION

Gaspard, a black dog, goes to Venice with his family. There he escapes from his family's endless visits to museums and embarks on his own exciting adventure. He finds a little red kayak--the perfect fit--and takes off to explore the canals of Venice, until an unfortunate run-in with a gondola stops him! After a day of adventure, he is found by his parents and they enjoy the best spaghetti in the world.

LISA IN NEW YORK

Lisa visits her favorite uncle in New York City and sees the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, and Central Park. When she gets lost in Times Square while shopping for souvenirs, she is saved by her own cleverness—and a Statue of Liberty night-light.

GASPARD AT THE SEASHORE

Gaspard is off to summer camp to learn how to windsurf. There’s just one problem—he doesn't know how to swim! After some lessons in the pool and a little help from his rubber float, Gaspard is ready to become a swimming champion.

Lisa is not one who likes to be outdone. When her classmates return from summer break with exciting stories about their vacations, Lisa decides to regale them with her own vacation story—a trip to the jungle to visit her Uncle Paul who raises panthers and leopards! Lisa enthralls her audience with tales from her amazing jungle adventure, until one of her classmates blows her cover when he asks her how he saw her at the community pool every day over the summer if she was in the jungle.
