Route
66: Traveler's Guide and Roadside
Companion
Authors: Tom Snyder & Bobby
Troup
Here is a state-by-state description
of Route 66, with an emphasis
on the stories behind the sights
you see. It's illustrated with
1930s-era auto club maps adapted
to show the path of modern
freeways but still evoking
the spirit of the old road.
Like the road itself, this
book embraces both the happy
and sad moments of its history
and the experiences of its
travellers.
The book supplies descriptions
of towns and cities along the
way with places to visit, places
to avoid and places of historical
interest. Included in the book
is information on mini-tours,
photography tips, a planning
section, and more. |
