Here are Australia’s cities in a series of maps from Hema each presenting three maps in one title: a road map of the surrounding region, a more detailed map of the suburbs and environs, plus a street plan of the city center.
-
The regional maps are indexed and show the road network with unsurfaced roads and tracks. Symbols indicate roadside rest areas, campsites, accredited information centres, etc. There is no topographical information beyond names of mountain ranges and selected peaks, plus rivers and lakes, but national and state parks, conservation areas and reserves are all highlighted. The maps have a grid showing latitude and longitude at intervals of 30’ or 15’.
-
Suburban maps, also indexed, show street names and suburb names with their postal codes.
-
Street plans of city centers have lists of places of interest and selected accommodation.
Many titles also include diagrams of the local tram, ferry or rail networks. |
