Who We Are
We started as a tiny band of idealists who frequently
indulged our wanderlust. Our mission was to prove that
travel didn't have to be one of the leading causes of
chronic lower back pain; that you could visit remote
parts of the world without giving up every bastion of
civilization; and that all of this could be fun. It's
a simple mission statement that has served us well for
25 years. We'd like to think we've made the last 25
years of adventure travel a little easier than the first
few thousand.
The Ethos of Eagle Creek
We believe in Karma and the philosophy of "What
goes around, comes around."
In the 25 years we've been in business we've gotten
so much from the world; in experience, culture and good
times. It's the least we can do to give a little bit
back. In doing so, we've been active in some worthwhile
things. Helping people to enrich their lives through
education was our mantra when we created the Children
of Nepal Fund. With donations raised we continue to
help build schools for children of the Himalayas. Locally
we've extended this value to the North San Diego County
Food Bank, helping those less than fortunate families
put food on their tables. Since part of our family extends
into Mexico we also reach out to support an orphanage
near where we sew many of our products. We also understand
as fellow travellers that we must be good stewards of
our own backyard. Ensuring we have a wilderness to travel
to, we support the Outdoor Industry Conservation Alliance,
The Outdoor Recreation Coalition of America, The Access
Fund and our President and founder also heads up The
Escondido Creek Conservancy.
Our travels have lead us to many parts of this world
where we were welcomed as guests and treated with respect.
Being a good host, neighbor and friend to the community
is perhaps the best way we can ensure that "What
goes around, comes around."
