Knirps produces what are arguably the best umbrellas in the world and has been in business since 1928. The quality and continual innovations have been responsible for the worldwide popularity of these umbrellas. Time and again Knirps umbrellas have excelled due to their new technologies, materials, and designs. Knirps umbrellas are stylish, practical and durable.
Knirps technical features:
- Shafts are made of high-grade aluminum, just one grade below "aircraft grade,"and have the structural integrity to withstand high winds that would warp or shatter most umbrellas. The shafts are lined with zinc for additional strength and flexibility. Tiny copper rings prevent component parts from grinding together and the octagonal tube profile minimizes rotation, thereby insuring years of smooth, reliable operation. Unlike some other umbrellas, a Knirps features a tapered shaft that is thickest nearest the canopy, which takes the brunt of the wind's effect.
- Handles, secured to the shaft by rivets, are thoughtfully designed to be ergonomically comfortable, with no-slip grips that come in handy on a wet day.
- Canopy ribs are constructed of a combination of aluminum and fiberglass. This enables them to flex with the wind from any direction and snap right back into place. They can even flip completely inside out and back again, good as new.
- Fabrics repel water with unique flat-weave polyester, Water does not soak into the fabric and fries almost instantly. No more soggy umbrellas in the corner.
